Curriculum
The scope and
sequence of the St. Margaret Mary School technology curriculum is developed
through the introduction of skills in the primary grades, specifically
kindergarten through Grade 4. These skills are practiced, reinforced, and
mastered in the Intermediate and Jr. High levels. The integration of
these technology skills with the classroom curriculum is the primary goal of
this technology program.
The Main Areas of Emphasis are the following:
Technology Fundamentals - include Terminology, Mouse Skills,
Care of Equipment, CD Care, login and logout, History and Operating Systems
Keyboarding - Grades 3-8
Word Processing - Microsoft Word and AppleWorks
Grades K-8
Databases – Grades 4-8
Spreadsheets - Excel and AppleWorks
Drawing and Painting – AppleWorks and Kids
Pix Deluxe K-8
Telecomputing – Browsing to Writing HTML K-8
Presentations – Kid Pix and AppleWorks Slideshows, Ezedia
and PowerPoint
Video – 8th Grade Graduation Video to include
both scanning of graphics and live video tape using iMovie and Photoshop
