Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children ages 3-6. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the Church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an “atrium,” a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use.
- We will meet Fridays 10:00-11:15 in the Suneg Center beginning in September and ending in May.
- A child must be 3 years of age by July 31 to register.
- Registration forms are available in the Religious Formation Office or download using the link below.
- Space is limited, early registration is advised. Please contact the Religious Formation Office for more information at 402-558-9119 or China Weil and http://www.cgsusa.org/.
For the 2018-19 year we will grow in our faith through using materials such as the articles of the Mass: the tabernacle, ciborium, the liturgical calendar, and the vestments of the priests. Furthermore, your child will meditate on the Infancy Narratives of the Annunciation and Visitation as well as the parables, the gestures of the epiclesis and offering (doxology), as well as learn about the gestures and oils used at baptism.
