Technology Curriculum and Programs

At. St. Margaret Mary School, our goal is to enhance the STEM and Writing  Program with integration of technology as a tool rather than a single subject. This approach makes learning relevant to both new technology and classroom content.  

Classroom and school-wide equipment and curriculum includes:

  • Two completely updated Apple Labs, each feature 33 desktop iMacs; 
  • Classrooms equipped with interactive White Boards, projectors and Apple TV’s;
  • All classrooms outfitted with individual wireless access points for iPad classroom use creating a wireless school;
  • Each teacher is provided with an Apple laptop and iPad;
  • Each classroom and lab has wall-mounted speakers;
  • Google Docs for students and Google Classroom for teachers;
  • Carts of iPads for classroom use; 
  • Many grades utilize textbooks accessible online;
  • iPads 1-to-1 in Jr. High Math, Science and English;
  • Weekly Computer classes offer Introduction to Coding Skills grades 4-8; 
  • Students learn and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs as well as Kid Pix Deluxe;
  • Keyboarding Skills incorporated into Computer class grades 3-8;
  • State of the art 12,000 volume library maintains an online card catalog and offers 4 iMac Search Stations;
  • Sycamore Education Software program provides both parent and students real-time grades, lunch menu, volunteer opportunities and weekly school news posts; 
  • Student accounts on IXL software program offer year-round Math and Language Arts enrichment; and
  • After school Robotics Club teams available to students grades 4-8 through the VEX and CREATE (Competitive Robotics Enhancing and Advancing Technology Education) programs.
