A Brief St. Margaret Mary History

St. Margaret Mary has been educating children in Omaha for 100 years!

St. Margaret Mary School, established in 1921 by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, serves kindergarten through eighth grades.  As one of 29 elementary metropolitan schools of the Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, St. Margaret Mary serves the needs of almost 500 students from its location in the central part of the city.

St. Margaret Mary is recognized city-wide for its exemplary academics, as a school that consistently produces Duke TIP program scholars, high school entrance exam scholarship winners, and inquisitive lifelong learners. Our National Blue Ribbon School sits on a conveniently located beautiful 6.5-acre campus.

Steeped in tradition, we are preparing students for the future.

In the 2025-2026 school year, 39% of the cost to educate every student will be covered by St. Margaret Mary Parish.  Tuition Assistance is available to families registered in St. Margaret Mary Parish.
