Extended Care Workers (Afternoon)

Are you a college student seeking a rewarding part-time opportunity that aligns with your school schedule? We are seeking enthusiastic workers to join our after-school Extended Care Program. Hours are 3:00-6:00 p.m. daily, with varying hours per week depending on school and position needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Our Extended Care workers will help supervise 1-75 students daily (ratio is 1 employee per 15 students). Student supervision and safety are the main responsibilities.

Other duties can include: Organization and management of students as they enter and exit the program daily, setting up activities or games, distribution of snacks, supervision before and after school, common area and hallway monitoring, and general homework support, keeping appropriate records, and communicating with parents as they drop off and pick up their children.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some knowledge of child development or education is preferred. Detail-oriented--accuracy needed for organization within the allowable play spaces. Ability to make safety decisions quickly. Willingness to take direction from multiple teachers and administration. Team player– may be asked to shift to support other teachers/needs as determined by the administration and extended care coordinator.


Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is required; some college preferred. Education courses or experience are helpful, but not required. Must be Safe Environment trained before employment begins.
Extended Care applicants over the age of 19 are preferred, and there will be DHHS online training requirements as well (paid by the employer). Must complete a DHHS background check, including fingerprinting and Central Registry check.

School Teaching Assistant/TA Substitutes

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities include supporting teachers and students. This may include, but is not limited to, working with students, supervision of duties, clerical work, and general classroom support.
