Novena to Sacred Heart of Jesus
St. Padre Pio prayed the Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus every day for the intentions of those who requested his prayers. St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the saint most well-known for spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, wrote this prayer. The faithful pray this novena nine days before the feast of the Sacred Heart. This year, the Church prays the novena every day from June 2-10. This year’s feast of the Sacred Heart is on Friday, June 11, 2021. However, the novena may be prayed at any time throughout the year.

- Our Father…Hail Mary…Glory be to the Father…Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
III. O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.” Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of [insert your intention.]
Our Father…Hail Mary…Glory be to the Father…Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender mother and ours.
Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.
Jesus made these twelve promises to those who honor His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun, whom he called “the Beloved Disciple of the Sacred Heart” and the Heiress “of all Its treasures”, in the 1670’s.
1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
- I will establish peace in their families.
- I will comfort them in their trials.
- I will be their secure refuge during life, and, above all, in death.
- I will shed abundant blessings on all their undertakings
- Sinners will find in My Heart an infinite ocean of mercy.
- Lukewarm souls will become fervent.
- Fervent souls will rapidly grow in holiness and perfection.
- I will bless every place where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
- I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
- The names of those who promote this devotion will be written in My Heart, never to be blotted out.
- I promise thee, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months, the grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My disgrace nor without receiving their Sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

Hearing Aid Zone in Church
· Do you suffer from hearing loss?
· Do you have a hard time hearing the priests and lectors during the Mass?
We wanted to remind our parishioners that a few years ago, the church was fitted with a new sound system which included an Induction Loop for those with hearing loss.
The loop is located under the first 10 rows of the center pew sections.
The T-coil is activated by a T-switch on the hearing aid or cochlear implant. The use of a Hearing Loop combined with a T-coil provides improved listening clarity for people with hearing loss who experience difficulty and fatigue when trying to understand speech because of distance, reverberation and distracting noises.
If you are having difficulty hearing during Mass, please consider sitting in the Induction Loop Zone and see if it helps. We would love to hear your feedback!
The mystery of death and resurrection is at the heart of Christian belief. Our Catholic funeral rites reflect hope in eternal life through Jesus Christ (Jn 3:15-16, 36); spiritual support for the deceased's soul and prayers for the comfort of their surviving loved ones (2 Mac 12:39-45; Ps 119:49-50; Isa 40:1-2; 2 Cor 1:3-7; 1 Thess 4:13-18); honoring the body (Tob 1:17; Sir 38:16); and the love of God manifest in Christ (Rm 8:38-39). These rites enable the Christian community both to mourn and to hope, by focusing on the mystery of the death and resurrection of Christ.
Suggested Funeral Readings
Contact Mary Kelly in the Parish Office for Scriptures are appropriate for use at Catholic Funeral Masses. One reading is chosen from each the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Gospels. (Other Scripture passages may be used on approval.)
Music at Funerals
Sacred Music is integral to the liturgical life of the Church’s worship of God. Because the funeral Mass is a public act of liturgical worship of the Church, the parish is ultimately responsible for the music in the liturgy to assure that the music for the funeral is sacred in nature and reflects the idea of resurrection and hope. The music for the funeral liturgy is selected with the assistance of Peg Lacy, the Music Director, who will help you choose music selections that are suitable to the sacred nature of the funeral Mass. St. Margaret Mary musicians and cantors will provide music for all funerals. If a family requests, additional qualified soloists or instrumentalists may be added at the discretion of the Music Director.
