The St. Margaret Mary School Robotics Club provides an exciting avenue for students in grades 4 to 8 to delve into the world of robotics. Open to all interested students, the club has gained significant popularity in recent years.  The Robotics Club offers a year-long extracurricular activity that promotes STEM learning and fosters positive team dynamics.  Each team consists of 3 - 5 students, and the coaches are proud to witness strong teamwork and sportsmanship among the members.

Meeting once a week, the teams prepare for area competitions held on Saturdays from November to March. If the teams excel and qualify for Nationals, the season extends into March and April. In 2023, one of our VEX teams even had the opportunity to compete in the esteemed Worlds Competition in May.

In 2025, all of the SMM elementary and middle school robotics teams were invited to and competed at the Nebraska VEX IQ State Championship in March at the SAC Museum in Ashland.

👏 In the elementary division, the ‘Spicey Pickles’ placed 3rd in the finals! For the middle school division, the teams ‘Access Denied’ and ‘The Cult of Adolescent Nobodies,’ participated in the finals together and finished in 5th place!
